962576_washing_machine_2Want to go green but feeling lazy? We’ve all been there at some point. Sometimes being eco-friendly can seem like just another thing to add to the list of an already long day. However, there are ways to be more eco-friendly and not do anything more then you already do. Don’t believe me? I’ll list them for you.

1. Run full loads of dishes in the dishwasher and clothes in your washing machine. Running half of a load or even just a part wastes water and energy. Plus, if that is your method, you have to load and unload even more. In conclusion, this is the even lazier way AND the better way.

2. While we’re on this topic, let’s take a look at your washing machine temperature. When turning those dials to set up the temperature of the wash, just turn it to cool (or a lower temperature) instead of warm or hot. Just a reminder, clothes are inanimate objects and this change will not affect them or you. It saves the energy of heating all that water up and I promise your clothes will be just as clean. This will also save you money on your electricity bill! (Cha-ching!)

3. Are you the speeding type? By controlling that lead foot of yours, you can be over 20% more efficient with your fuel use. If you think about it, all you have to do is press LESS on the gas pedal. Basically, you have to exert less personal energy to be green. Again, this qualifies as both the lazier and better way.

Being green can fit right into your lifestyle and can take no more energy than your normal day to day routine. Now I just hope that all of you go out there and put forth no extra effort! It can make a difference too!
