SmartPower, a national non-profit marketing organization dedicated to promoting clean energy and energy efficiency seeks a mature, poised, confidant and strong onthe-ground Community Outreach Manager who shares a passion for clean energy and environmental issues to work in Connecticut. The Community Outreach Manager will primarily help to implement SmartPower’s Solarize Connecticut campaign while also assisting in SmartPower’s various programs throughout New England.
Specific responsibilities of this position include meeting with municipal leaders, and other community leaders to motivate them to actively participate in Solarize Connecticut and SmartPower’s program and coordinate weekly outreach activities. The Community Outreach Manager will help coordinate with local organizations, volunteers, solar Ambassadors and solar installers to identify and execute marketing and outreach partnership opportunities such as tabling at events to sign up participants, hosting workshops, holding solar open houses, and using newsletters, news stories, and social media to increase residential sign ups. The Community Outreach Manager will coordinate these activities between local volunteers, solar Ambassadors and solar installers.
Certain communities may be targeted for specific kinds of outreach as part of a Department of Energy supported three-year study and the Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the research design of the outreach. There will be important data collection, tracking and reporting responsibilities as well. The Community Outreach Manager will work under the direction of SmartPower’s Vice President.

The ideal candidate is someone with a minimum of 3-4 years work experience in community outreach, political campaigns or the environmental/energy industry.
Starting salary $45k.
