Elected Officials Call On Colleagues To Participate in Video Challenge To Save Energy The Rhode Island Video Challenge, an innovative and creative component of The Rhode Island Energy Challenge: Find Your Four Campaign, today received unprecedented support from three Rhode Island elected leaders. In a letter to elected officials across Rhode Island, North Smithfield Town Administrator Paulette Hamilton, Mayor Harry Winthrop of Newport and Mayor Scott Avedisian of Warwick, have challenged colleagues to encourage their residents to participate in the Rhode Island Video Challenge. Rhode Islanders are being asked to create a YouTube video showing how easy it is to become energy efficient in our daily lives. The Rhode Island Video Challenge offers great prizes and a chance to become an on-line sensation…all while helping people save energy and money. The elected officials – all designated Rhode Island Energy Champions by virtue of their communities winning the Rhode Island Energy Challenge – have challenged colleagues to get 10 residents to submit videos to the contest as a great way to make energy efficiency fun and engaging. Both the video contest as well as the Rhode Island Energy Challenge, are supported by National Grid.
