This weekend, SmartPower’s Vice President, Sharon Pillar joined Mayor William Peduto, The Heinz Endowments’ André Heinz, Rocky Mountain Institute’s Amory Lovins, and a host of international leaders at a summit on the future of Pittsburgh’s energy and sustainability future. p4: People, Planet, Place and Performance brought together experts from around the globe to focus on the future of Pittsburgh. The goal: “to forge a new model of urban growth and development that is innovative, inclusive and sustainable.”
Since February, Sharon has been leading the Solarize Allegheny campaign, the region’s first solarize campaign. As such, SmartPower’s efforts to engage key community leaders while changing Pittsburgh’s energy landscape has become a significant driver in the sustainable development in Pittsburgh. And throughout the weekend-long conference, the value of community engagement and action became a focal point for the future of Pittsburgh.
