As the Nor’easter of 2015 bears down on the eastern seaboard, US Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, RI Secretary of Commerce Nominee Stefan Pryor, John Merck Fund Trustee Whitney Hatch and Commissioner Marion Gold of the RI Office of Energy Resources joined a host of local leaders to kick off “Round II” of Solarize Rhode Island.
The serious storm preparation served as an important reminder that solar is an important part of the climate change solution. Speakers at the Monday Solarize event pointed out that residential and small commercial solar – and programs like Solarize — are part of the climate change solution, in addition to addressing the jobs challenge and Rhode Islands’ efforts to ensure affordable, consistent energy for everyone.
Solarize Tiverton and Little Compton follow on the heels of the hugely successful Solarize North Smithfield campaign that saw 84 residential and small commercial sign ups for solar in just 9 weeks!
