Brian F. Keane, PresidentBrian F. Keane has served as SmartPower’s founding President since 2002. SmartPower is a Washington, DC based non-profit renewable energy and energy efficiency outreach and marketing organization. Keane has been credited with driving the adoption of over $100 million in rooftop residential solar in just three years -- creating tens of thousands of solar energy & energy efficiency customers.
He is also the author of the highly acclaimed book, Green Is Good: Save Money, Make Money, and Help Your Community Profit from Clean Energy (Lyons Press, 2012). Named 2019’s “Game Changer of the Year” and 2017’s CEO of the Year, Keane is a former Presidential Campaign advisor and congressional aide. In 2017, The John Merck Fund, one of the leading environmental foundations in the US, awarded Keane the "Frank Hatch Award for Enlightened Public Service”. In 2011 Keane was the recipient of the American University American Eagle Award which recognizes the alumni who have rendered outstanding service to the University and the Alumni Association. In October of 2021, CIO Views Magazine put Brian Keane on its cover and named him one of the “10 Most Successful CEO’s Making a Difference in 2021”. Keane has extensive Capitol Hill experience, having served as a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Les Aspin (D-WI) and as an aide to Congressman Joe Moakley (D-Massachusetts).
Since SmartPower’s founding in 2002, its efforts have been recognized with numerous awards, including a 2016 and 2010 Clean Air Excellence Award from the Environmental Protection Agency, the coveted Green Power Pilot Award presented by the EPA and the US Department of Energy; four Gold Awards from the Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA), and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Circle Award. And for the past two years, The Wealth & Money Management Awards named SmartPower “The Best Non-Profit Marketing Firm in the US”. In November of 2014 Keane received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the People’s Action for Clean Energy (PACE). Keane serves as Co-Founder & CEO of WeeGreen, (www.wee.green) a software as a service (SaaS) company mobilizing businesses, communities, universities and NGO's to achieve their grassroots outreach goals. Uniquely designed for peer-to-peer grassroots outreach WeeGreen's "Campaign app" is connected to an integrated and curated marketplace in order to accelerate the adoption of green products and services.
Brian F. Keane is a 1989 graduate of The American University in Washington, DC, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. He is a past-president of the American University Alumni Association. Keane is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vermont-based Clean Energy Group, and serves as a Business Leader Partner at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment. |

Bob Wall, Vice President, SolarizeBob Wall is a strategic and innovative change agent who has led large-scale, award-winning initiatives that integrate environmental sustainability and clean energy practices into residential homes, businesses and communities. He is a respected thought leader and influencer, effectively sharing information and leveraging expertise to drive stakeholder buy-in and widespread adoption of sustainability measures that deliver competitive advantage, enhanced profitability, cost savings and stronger business performance.
Today he serves as the Vice-President, Solarize, for SmartPower, the nation’s leading non-profit marketing organization focused on energy efficiency and clean energy Wall oversees and manages SmartPower’s award-winning on-the-ground and on-line outreach campaigns that promote residential solar, battery backup systems and other sustainable technologies in multiple states. He is an innate relationship builder and cross-functional team leader who forges partnerships with diverse stakeholders to accelerate impact. Wall is also a team leader of the SmartPower, Yale University, New York University and Department of Energy Solar Energy Evolution and Diffusion Studies (SEEDS) which have helped establish the SmartPower Solarize Campaigns as a national outreach model. Previously, Wall helped develop the voluntary clean energy markets in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts working for the non-profits Clean Water Fund and SmartPower and the quasi-governmental agency, Connecticut Green Bank (formerly known as the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund). With the latter, he managed a portfolio of nationally recognized programs including Clean Energy Communities and Solarize Connecticut, which helped to establish the foundation for Connecticut’s clean energy economy. Furthermore, Wall helped secure more than $7 million in philanthropic and government grants for special projects. He also developed greenhouse gas emission reduction strategies and practices for the State of Connecticut Governor’s Steering Committee on Climate Change. Wall is credited with implementing outreach, educational and marketing strategies that create strong working relationships with state public benefits funds, government agencies, utilities, municipalities, businesses, universities and environmental organizations. In 2011, he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from People’s Action for Clean Energy (PACE). Prior to his sustainability work, he practiced law in New York City, specializing in environmental and health hazard litigation. Bob Wall is a 1981 graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He is also a 1986 graduate of Fordham University School of Law in New York, NY, where he earned a Juris Doctor degree. Wall currently serves as Chair of the Sustainable Fairfield Task Force in his hometown of Fairfield, CT and on the Steering Committee of the CT Energy Network. He is also a Member of the Board of Greater Bridgeport Community Enterprises, a non-profit organization that creates new green businesses for unemployed, low-income area residents facing multiple barriers to employment. Previously, Wall served as Chair of the Connecticut Green Building Council and on the Board of Advisors of the Institute for Sustainable Energy at Eastern Connecticut State University. |
