SMARTPOWER
Lets Get Energy Smart!
Overview of Our Work
For over 20 years SmartPower has worked on behalf of cities, towns, state agencies, utility companies and the US federal government to “turbo charge” energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts from coast to coast. We help people get “energy smart”!
PowerSmart Campaign
SmartPower and our partners at the Yale School of Environment, The Connecticut Green Bank and the Stern School of Business at NYU are working under a grant from the US Department of Energy with selected communities in Connecticut. Think of it as Solarize - with batteries! It’s an opportunity for homeowners who own solar+battery to have clean, backup power when the grid goes down and sell their stored energy back to the utility.
The Arizona Solar Challenge
The Arizona Solar Challenge utilizes a community-based “group buying” program that has been tested and perfected across the nation.
Solarize at Work
Solarize at Work Program is a company-wide and company-branded, 20-week online and in-house, residential solar campaign designed to educate and motivate your employees to be sustainable and go solar.
Solarize South Carolina
Solarize South Carolina is a community initiative designed to make it easy to go solar. Solarize South Carolina is a partnership lead by the non-profit organization
Solarize Connecticut
The goal of this residential solar program is to dramatically advance the adoption of residential solar photovoltaic systems by lowering acquisition costs and making solar more affordable to residents using the Solarize “group purchasing” model.

Planning and zoning are examples of mitigation actions, as are floodplain protection, property acquisition and relocation, and public outreach projects. Installing disaster warning systems, purchasing radio communications equipment, and conducting emergency response training are examples of preparedness actions. Disaster mitigation is at the heart of emergency management.
